Steely Dan

Steely Dan and Beacon Theatre go together like peanut butter and jelly, having done multiple night runs together in 2009, 2011 and 2013. They’re doing it again this fall, playing eight nights at Beacon on October 6, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 16 & 17 and like before each night has its own theme:

October 6 Aja & Hits
October 7 Greatest Hits
October 9 Gaucho & Hits
October 10 The Royal Scam & Hits
October 13 Aja & Hits
October 14 Greatest Hits
October 16 By Popular Demand
October 17 The Grand Review

If you’re curious what the final Beacon show (“The Grand Review”) is, Steely Dan describe it as “The Most Unforgettable Night of Whatever – Featuring Spectacular Musical Guests, Glorious Tunes and Riffage, and Whatever the Party Calls for! Parking Validated for First Dozen Diehard Fans.”

Tickets for all the Beacon shows go on sale June 5 at 10 AM with an AmEx presale starting Thursday (5/28) at 10 AM and a Beacon Theatre presale beginning June 4 at 10 AM.

For big fans, they’re also offering a few different discounted, multi-night packages: package one features the Oct. 6, 7, 9 and 10 performances; package two contains the shows on Oct. 13, 14, 16 and 17. Both are priced at “buy three shows get four shows.” For the Dan super-fan, a third package offers tickets for all eight Beacon shows for the cost of six.

For those wondering, in addition to main men Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, Steely Dan will also feature on these Beacon shows Keith Carlock on drums, Freddie Washington on bass, Jim Beard on keyboards, Jon Herington on guitar, Michael Leonhart on trumpet, Jim Pugh on trombone, Roger Rosenberg on baritone saxophone, Walt Weiskopf on saxophone, plus backup singers Paulette McWilliams, Carolyn Escoffery, and Cindy Mizelle.

This summer, Steely Dan will be doing the outdoor amphitheater circuit with Elvis CostelloAugust 1 at PNC Bank Arts Center and August 3 at Susquehanna Bank Center. Tickets for those shows are on sale now. All dates are listed below.

In case you missed it, check out Donald Fagen’s diary about his experience at this year’s Coachella.
