Still Flyin

Led by Sean Rawls, San Francisco's Still Flyin' has been around since the mid-'00s, more a collective than a band and featuring a revolving lineup that has, over the years, included Jens Lekman, members of Love is All, The Aislers Set, Versus, Ladybug Transistor, Architecture in Helsinki, and other groups. (I saw them play at SXSW years ago with more than a dozen people on stage.) Still Flyin' are currently a sextet and just released Perfect Future via Ernest Jenning Record Co./We Were Never Being Boring. Pulling influence from Orange Juice, New Order, Elephant 6, etc, this is charming, wide-eyed, party-friendly indiepop and you can stream it below.

Still Flyin' are currently on the East Coast for a short run of shows. The first is here in NYC, tonight (2/3) at Cake Shop. For fans of indiepop, the whole bill is super solid, featuring Ladybug Transistor offshoot/reduction O/R/F (aka the band's Gary Olson, Julia Rydholm, and Kyle Forester), Love is All's James Ausfahrt, and Brooklyn indiepop stalwarts My Teenage Stride. Some of these folks have been in Still Flyin' over the years, so it wouldn't be too surprising to see an extra-large version of the band (for at least a few songs) tonight. Tickets are on sale.

All Still Flyin' tour dates are listed, along with the album stream and the flyer for the Cake Shop, below.
