Strand of Oaks debuted new lineup at Pianos, announce full-band tour (dates & ‘Goshen 97′ video)

We hope everyone who won tix to the private BrooklynVegan-presented Strand of Oaks show at Pianos last night had a good time. It was the debut of Strand of Oaks' (aka Timothy Showalter) new full band. That band will be joining him on a just-announced North American tour this summer. All of those dates, including the previously announced 6/26 NYC record release show at Mercury Lounge, are listed below.
One of the songs you may have heard at the show last night was Heal's first single "Goshen '97," though J Mascis wasn't in attendance to play on it like he does on the record. Check out that song's video, which was directed by by Rick Alverson (director of 'The Comedy' starring Tim & Eric, as well as videos for Sharon Van Etten, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and more), along with the tour dates below...

Strand of Oaks - "Goshen '97"
"It had been a dream of mine to work with Rick Alverson," says Tim Showalter of Strand of Oaks. "Rick is a master of blending tragedy, humor, and catharsis, and that's exactly what the song is about. It doesn't celebrate the huge victories in life or mourn the heaviest memories. It's about the moments between the ups and downs, where I believe we spend most of our lives. The days that aren't shitty or particularly great, when you realize you're one day farther from being young and you're only getting older. Sometimes things so simple can be the most tragic."
