Strand of Oaks

Strand of Oaks details new album 'Hard Love,' shares new song, expands tour

Tim Showalter will release a new Strand of Oaks album, Hard Love, on February 17 via Dead Oceans, the followup to 2014’s HEAL. It was produced by Nicolas Vernhes (Animal Collective, Deerhunter, Spoon), and it takes the full-band rock direction of HEAL to new levels. Lead single “Radio Kids” dips its toes into ’80s heartland rock and the just-released “Rest Of It” is rollicking roots rock. Check out the videos for those songs and the album tracklist (including a song called “Taking Acid and Talking To My Brother”) below.

Strand of Oaks also added tons of tour dates since last spoke. As mentioned, he plays NYC on March 14 at Music Hall of Williamsburg. UPDATE: the Brooklyn show has been postponed due to Winter Storm Stella to May 8. Jason Anderson will now open. Jim James associates Twin Limb will open that show. Tickets are still available.

Strand of Oaks also plays Boston Calling and more. All dates are listed below.
