Strand of Oaks' Timothy Showalter has announced he'll be teaming with members of Jason Molina's band Magnolia Electric Co. to pay tribute to the late musician, who tragically passed away in 2013. They're called Goshen Electric Co.

Showalter announced the project in a statement on Twitter, saying he hopes he "did [Molina] proud":

Very honored to introduce you all to Goshen Electric Co. myself and the original members of Magnolia Electric Co. went into the studio this summer and recorded a 7 inch for Secretly Canadian its a heavy responsibility to try and sing Jason's songs and I hope I did him proud.

The newly-formed group will be releasing a 7" on November 18 via Secretly Canadian (that's the artwork above), consisting of two lesser-known tracks by Molina, and they've just shared the video for the A-side, which is a version of "The Gray Tower," which Jason released under his Songs: Ohia moniker. The B-side is a recording of Molina's "Ring The Bell," which appeared on records by both Songs: Ohia and Magnolia Electric Co. You can watch the video for "The Gray Tower," and hear the original Songs: Ohia version, below.

The band has also announced a fall tour under the different name, Memorial Electric Co, and so far they only have Europe/UK dates announced. All dates are listed below.
