ST 37

stream Austin psych vets ST 37's new self-titled double LP

Austin psych band ST 37 have been at it for over thirty years, and they’ve basically never slowed down. Last year, they released a split with Japanese psych rockers Acid Mothers Temple, which came to fruition after the bands toured together in 2015. (ST 37’s contribution was a cover of “Just You” from Twin Peaks, which Acid Mothers Temple’s Makoto Kawabata guested on live several times.) Now, ST 37 are following that split with self-titled double LP, which was recorded with an expanded 10-piece lineup. It comes out this Friday (7/27) via Super Secret Records (pre-order), and we’re premiering a full stream of the album in this post. It sees ST 37 making the same mix of punk, psych, and space rock that they’ve been making for decades, but they still sound as invigorated as ever. The whole thing is a dense, trippy wall of sound that really encourages you to turn on, tune in, and drop out. Listen below.

The band began a tour with a hometown release show last night, and they’ve got more dates scheduled through August. All are listed below.
