Portland’s Blackwater Holylight are releasing their self-titled debut album this week (4/6) on the trusty psychedelic label RidingEasy Records (pre-order), and we’re streaming the album in full ahead of its release. It’s got a foot in the kind of ’60s/’70s riffy, heavy psych that RidingEasy is known for reissuing, but Blackwater Holylight have a distinctly modern sound. Their guitar tones are bold and clear, not fuzzed out, and vocalists Allison Faris and Laura Hopkins have a haunting goth-rock delivery that’s closer to Dead Can Dance than to early psych rock.
