Cuddle Magic are a band from Brooklyn who make off-kilter electronic pop (but don't confuse them with similarly named Brooklyn bands who make off-kilter electronic pop like Computer Magic or Young Magic), and they're releasing their new album Ashes/Axis on Friday (1/27) via Northern Spy (pre-order). Their electronic pop sort of has an underlying folky element and a foot in the modern-classical world, not unlike My Brightest Diamond or The Age of Adz, and the band members are all involved in other cool projects too. One member, Benjamin Lazar Davis, has a collaborative album with Joan As Police Woman and plays in Okkervil River, among other things. Half of the band's six members are core songwriters, and four of them trade off lead vocal duties. The new album also has co-writing credits from Bridget Kearney of Lake Street Dive and Sarah K. Pedinotti of Lip Talk, and it was produced by Bryce Goggin (Pavement, Swans, Antony & The Johnsons). We're premiering a whole stream of the album and you can listen below.

Cuddle Magic are also touring, including a run with PHOX that hits NYC for a sold-out show at Music Hall of Williamsburg on Saturday (1/28). They next play NYC in February, opening the Bowery Ballroom (2/16) stop of Margaret Glaspy's tour. Tickets for that show are still available. All dates are listed below.

Cuddle Magic also just did a session for WXPN, which you can check out here.
