stream Fleet Foxes' 2008 rarity "Isles"

Fleet Foxes‘ upcoming box set First Collection 2006 – 2009 includes b-sides and rarities from their early years, and they’re now streaming one of those, “Isles.” The song was originally the b-side to the UK 7″ single for “White Winter Hymnal” and available on the two-disc European limited edition release of their self-titled debut album, but this is the first time that the song is officially getting released in the US. It’s a somber folk song with just Robin Pecknold’s voice and an acoustic guitar, and if you haven’t heard this one yet, it’s worth changing that. It’s a beautiful song and fits in perfectly with Fleet Foxes’ better known songs from the era. Listen below.

First Collection 2006 – 2009 comes out November 9 via Nonesuch in Europe and Sub Pop in the rest of the world. Fleet Foxes are also working on a new album.
