Soccer96 is the synth/drums duo of the two non-Shabaka Hutchings members of The Comet Is Coming -- Danalogue [Dan Leavers] and Betamax [Max Hallett] -- and as mentioned, their collaborative EP with Alabaster dePlume, Tactics, comes out June 26 via Moshi Moshi (pre-order). We recently posted lead single "I Was Gonna Fight Fascism," and we're now premiering second single "Children Will Dance." Like the first single, this song may come with three musicians most associated with the UK jazz scene, but it's a thumping, spoken word/house music fusion that echoes a different side of the UK's rich musical history.

Danalogue says, “In some ways it’s very similar to how we started things with The Comet Is Coming, plugging Shabaka into a guitar amp in our studio and egging each other on to go further, dirtier, louder. This time we plugged Alabaster into the Soccer96 turbo charger, and the results are pretty spectacular.”
