Tess & Dave, the duo of David Vandervelde and Tess Shapiro, release their debut EP this week (8/26) via Friendship Fever. This is deep shag '70s decor, full of soaring, smooth harmonies, twin leads, and swooning strings, with an occasional detour into proggy synths. It's somewhere between Father John Misty (who they've toured with) and Montreal's Besnard Lakes, and there isn't a bum track on this EP. You can stream the whole thing ahead of Friday's release, below.

As mentioned, the duo will open for Father John Misty at Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre on Friday, August 26, and have an EP release show scheduled for September 29 at San Francisco’s The Make Out Room. Look for Tess & Dave's debut album will be in 2017.
