Iconic New Zealand band The Chills release Silver Bullets, their first album in 19 years, this week via Fire. Though frontman and songwriter Martyn Phillipps has assembled an all-new version of the band, it is a Chills record through and through.  Phillipps’ minor chord melodies, soaring choruses, and lyrics full of wonder and humanity, are in full view, and there are some genuinely great songs here — the ebb and flow of “Warm Waveform,” the big pop of “Aurora Corona,” and the driving title track to name three. It is easily the best Chills album since 1990’s Submarine Bells and you can stream the whole thing right now, below…
