The End of the Ocean

stream The End of the Ocean's "Homesick"

Ohio post-rockers The End of the Ocean are returning next week (1/18) with -aire, their first album in eight years (and second ever), on Equal Vision (pre-order). Ahead of the release, we’re premiering the new seven-minute single “Homesick.” If you’re not familiar with The End of the Ocean but you dig bands like Caspian or This Will Destroy You, it’s worth changing that. Like those bands, this one makes uplifting, cinematic, instrumental rock music that’s both heavy and beautiful. They do it really well, and “Homesick” is one of those songs that can really transport you. Here’s what the band says about it:

Life is a series of places you go, be it emotionally or physically. The experience of being homesick for us is more of a deep ache to revisit a certain time, to experience an encounter for the first time all over again, to feel the flurry of emotions and feelings of our previous selves. This song is our hymn to our homesickness.
