stream The Lawrence Arms' "Last Last Words" off first album in 6 years

Chicago punk vets The Lawrence Arms‘ anticipated first album in six years Skeleton Coast comes out July 17 via Epitaph (pre-order), and they’ve just released second single “Last Last Words,” following “PTA” which we named one of the best punk songs of May.

The new song “is about coming to terms with your own obscurity – but like, in a pretty upbeat way,” says vocalist and guitarist Chris McCaughan. “It’s an escape dream to an edge of the world while being strangely content with some undergrown adulthood. It’s part undercover love song to the sometimes beautiful randomness of the universe and part offbeat, comical reminder to keep rewriting your unknown future. Like so much of the record, the song chases tiny flashes of light in the darkness.”

Like “PTA,” “Last Last Words” is a super catchy punk rager that sounds every bit as fresh and exciting as the band’s classic material. It’s keeping our hopes high for this new album — listen below.
