stream Toys That Kill's new album 'Sentimental Ward'

Toys That Kill, one of the bands of the great melodic punk staple Todd Congelliere, are releasing their new album Sentimental Ward this Friday (7/1) via Todd’s Recess Records. You can pre-order it, but if you want to hear it before you do, you’re in luck. A full stream premieres in this post. Like Toys That Kill (and Todd’s other bands) have been doing for years, Sentimental Ward is the kind of classic pop punk that never goes out of style (“pop punk” in the Ramones sense, that is). It’s got 16 songs and only two of them cross the three-minute mark, and it’s all fuzzy downstrummed guitars, bright melodies, and driving speed. Check it out for yourself below.

Toys That Kill’s tour was supposed to hit NYC on July 26 at the Acheron, but that venue will sadly be closed by then, so stay tuned for a new venue announcement. Since we last spoke, the great Big Eyes were added to that show, as were Weird Skin and Nadir.

UPDATE: Toys That Kill’s NYC show was moved to Sunnyvale.
