stream Twain's "Death (or S.F.?)" off upcoming '2 E.P.s'
Twain is the indie folk project led by Mt. Davidson (aka Mat Davidson), who’s also played in The Low Anthem and Spirit Family Reunion. They’ve been stirring up some buzz since releasing their 2017 debut album Rare Feeling, having made appearances at Newport Folk Fest, Willie Nelson’s “Luck Reunion,” and multiple shows with Big Thief, who are really big champions of the band. “[Davidson] is an artist of the deepest importance to us, a voice for the ineffable that must be heard,” Big Thief say.
On January 25, Twain are releasing 2 E.P.s, a collection of unreleased songs from the Rare Feeling sessions. We’re premiering one of those, a warm piano ballad called “Death (or S.F.?)” that Davidson says “offers a positive notion of death by drawing upon the familiar experiences of sexual awakening or traveling to an exotic city.” Check it out below.
