Sufjan Stevens recently released "America," the awesome, twelve and a half minute lead single off his first album in five years, The Ascension. It's a gorgeous, synth and drum machine-fueled song that directs some much-deserved anger at America, and Sufjan says the song set the tone for what The Ascension would end up becoming.

Today, "America" is out as a digital single backed by a non-album track, "My Rajneesh." This one's ten and a half minutes, it's named after the Indian guru Rajneesh (whose movement was documented in Netflix's Wild Wild Country), and it's an Age of Adz-style epic that tips its hat in the direction of that album's "Vesuvius."
