Sun Ra Arkestra playing Blank Forms benefit with Yo La Tengo, opening for Solange
Nonprofit arts organization Blank Forms is hosting its inaugural Benefit Concert honoring Marshall Allen and the Sun Ra Arkestra at NYC’s Ukrainian National Home on September 12. Yo La Tengo and Mike Huckaby will join Marshall and the Arkestra and tickets (which range from $45 general admission to a $5000 “Benefit Committee Priorty Table”) are on sale now and all proceeds go to “helping Blank Forms maintain our innovative programming throughout the next year.”
Sun Ra Arkestra, meanwhile, will be joining Solange at her upcoming shows in NYC, Washington, DC and the Hurricane Harvey relief benefit in Boston.
They also play Brooklyn’s BRIC Jazz Fest on October 19. All dates are listed, along with video of the Arkestra’s NPR Tiny Desk concert, below.
