Super Whatevr

Super Whatevr releasing 'Never Nothing' (stream "Telelelevision")

Super Whatevr signed to Hopeless Records (current home of The Wonder Years, Taking Back Sunday, and more), and, along with Milk Teeth and Dryjacket, they’re one of a few new indie-punk bands that the label has picked up recently. Their new song “Telelelevision,” which premieres in this post, recalls a handful of ’90s slacker rock bands and the many modern bands who revive that sound. Super Whatevr’s Skyler McKee tells us, “I took Ritalin once and pondered why my inner-self hated me so much. Other people could tell me the type of person that I was but I wouldn’t hear it and certainly didn’t believe it. It’s about fighting what seemed to be a knee jerk urge to take my life.” Fans of Wavves, Joyce Manor, Superchunk and more should check this out. Listen below.

The song appears on their debut album Never Nothing, which comes out this Friday (1/19) (pre-order). The album also features previous singles “Bloomfield,” “For You,” and “Kathrin With a K,” which all show off slightly different sides of this band’s sound. You can hear those below too.

Super Whatevr also are hitting the road in March and April with Movements, Can’t Swim and Gleemer, including a Brooklyn show on March 22 at Knitting Factory (tickets). All dates are listed below.
