Superchunk share "Erasure" ft. Katie Crutchfield & Stephin Merritt

Superchunk have shared “Erasure” from their anticipated 11th album, What a Time to Be Alive. This song features backing vocals from Katie Crutchfield (Waxahatchee) and Stephin Merritt (Magnetic Fields). There are a bunch of other folks on this album, too, including Sabrina Ellis (A Giant Dog, Sweet Spirit), Skylar Gudasz, and David Bazan. “Part of that was wanting a feeling of community,” says frontman Mac McCaughan of all the guests. “I think that’s important to not be completely bummed out about everything all the time.” You can stream “Erasure,” below.

What a Time to Be Alive is out February 16. Superchunk, who played NYC’s Bowery Ballroom in December as part of Yo La Tengo’s Hanukkah run, will be on tour starting in February and will return to Bowery Ballroom for two sold-out shows in April. Updated dates are listed below.
