Sweet Apple (J Mascis) share song ft Mark Lanegan & Robert Pollard off new LP

Sweet Apple, the supergroup of J. Mascis (Dinosaur Jr), Tim Parnin (Cobra Verde, Chuck Mosley), John Petkovic (Cobra Verde, Death of Samantha, Guided By Voices) and Dave Sweetapple (Witch), are back in action and will release new album, Sing the Night in Sorrow, this week (7/28) via Tee Pee Records. This record is extra-packed with indie rock talent as it also features guest appearances from Mark Lanegan (Screaming Trees, QOTSA), Robert Pollard (Guided By Voices), Rachel Haden (Haden Triplets) and Doug Gillard (Guided By Voices, Nada Surf).

The first single is “World I’m Gonna Leave You” which features both Lanegan and Pollard. The video for the song was directed by Petkovic and was shot on “”The Death Car,” a 1930s train that was involved in one of the grisliest transportation accidents in America — when 26 passengers were boiled to death in New York, 1943.” The video sort of reimagines the passengers’ final moments before the accident, so no need to avert your eyes. You can watch that, and a short trailer for the LP, below.
