Just as House of Vans Brooklyn is closing, we get word that another branded skate-related free concert series could be making its first appearance in NYC after many years of fun times in Austin during SXSW. Thrasher Death Match (which was previously a collaboration with Converse but teamed with Vans during this year's SXSW) looks like it's coming to Queens. Most details are TBA, but a Thrasher Death Match Party with Culture Abuse and Gouge Away was announced for October 6. Venue is still TBA too (Knockdown Center maybe?)

Thrasher Death Match has tended to lean towards punk, metal, and hip hop, and the free Austin parties usually have skate ramps that are open to the public and free booze. In 2012, BrooklynVegan teamed with Converse and Thrasher for one of their parties in Austin during SXSW.

Stay tuned for more details. Watch a video of Death Match 2018 in Austin, below.
