On tour now in support of This Mess is a Place, their first album for Sub Pop, Seattle’s Tacocat played Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg on Friday night (5/17). The band took the stage to the strains of the Game of Thrones theme, and singer Emily Nokes joked that she didn’t expect anyone to come to their show on Sunday in DC because of the GoT series finale. They dedicated “I Love Seattle” to friends in the audience from their hometown while “I Hate The Weekend” was dedicated to the people working at Music Hall of Williamsburg, and “Crimson Wave” was for those currently on their period. Emily also encouraged the audience to say “abortion on demand and without apology” in regards to Alabama’s abortion ban. You can check out Tacocat’s setlist below.

The MHOW show was a great lineup all around, with tourmates Sammi Lanzetta and Control Top who drove up from Philly for the show and who also have a new LP. (Control Top will be back in NYC in August.) Pictures from the whole night are in the gallery above.
