Prawn opening for Jimmy Eat World

Jimmy Eat World returned just over a week ago with Integrity Blues, their strongest record in at least nine years. Their tour in support of it includes some small-ish shows for the band — like Asbury Park’s Stone Pony and NYC’s Webster Hall — and those shows just got a pretty cool opener.

In the earlier half of their career, Jimmy Eat World were a pretty influential emo band, and new-school emo band Prawn (who probably owe a thing or two to the Static Prevails/Clarity era) will be opening both of those NY/NJ shows, plus the DC show at 9:30 Club. All three are sold out.

Those are the only upcoming dates at the moment for Prawn, who just played The Fest this past weekend. Their latest release is last year’s split with Moving Mountains. Listen to that:
