“I couldn’t bring myself to cover his songs. ” says School of Language’s David Brewis. “But I thought that maybe I could keep myself on the level by writing my own Prince songs. Maybe a little batch which would have been left in the vault back in ’81 because they sounded ‘too Prince’ and he’d already moved on.”

“Back in 2013, when I made the last SoL album, I wouldn’t have guessed that the next one would be about a reality TV star-turned-President, who claims to be an expert in, well, everything,” says School of Language’s David Brewis.

It’s been a minute since we’re heard from the Brewis brothers who put Field Music in semi-hibernation after 2012’s Plumb. The band did compose the score to a 1929 silent documentary, Drifters, which they performed at the Berwick Film and Media Arts Festival in September…
