Georgia’s “Safe Carry Protection Act” allows weapons to be legally carried in parks and other public spaces, and a 2019 State Supreme Court ruling made short-term leaseholders like Music Midtown unable to enforce their own ban of guns.

Local group Women’s March Alliance organized the march on Manhattan’s Upper West Side on Saturday. Happening at the same time in Foley Square was the Women’s Unity Rally, held by the national Women’s March organization, which has been embroiled in allegations of anti-semitism.
