Warm and wistful, Blur’s masterful ninth album would be a perfect swan song, but is too good to be their last.

“I can guarantee they’re going to reform,” Damon Albarn said in an interview about Blur’s new album. “Obviously I expect an excellent new record to accompany it.“

‘The Ballad of Darren,’ Blur’s first LP in eight years, is out on July 21, and the show (“the first and only time the band will play the complete album live from start to finish”) goes down on July 25 at Eventim Apollo London.
