The inaugural New Colossus Festival, the CMJ-esque music festival and industry conference, happens this weekend (March 7-10) at East Village/LES venues Pianos, Arlene’s Grocery, The Delancey, Berlin, Coney Island Baby, and Bowery Electric.

Taking cues from groups like Slowdive, Pale Saints and The Chameleons, the album is dark, lush and gorgeous, with pounding toms, washes of delayed guitar and ethereal vocals.

New Colossus happens March 7-10 at venues in the East Village and Lower East Side.

The 2016 Treefort Music Fest goes on March 23-27 in Boise, Idaho in venues all over the city. (It’s kinda like Boise’s SXSW.)
