Chavez's 1995 debut album is getting a 25th anniversary vinyl reissue on Matador with four extra tracks.

’Revisionist History’ features classic videos from their archives and new appearances from Yo La Tengo, and it goes to help NYC indie moviehouse Metrograph.

"We were fearless at the time we recorded Alien Lanes," writes Robert Pollard in a new essay on album. "That's why it bristles with insane energy and confidence."

”We wrote and recorded the rocker ’You’ll Get Eaten, Too’ a while ago & waited for it to have a purpose,” says Matt. ”Now it has a great one.”

The album features Billy F. Gibbons (ZZ Top), Jake Shears (Scissor Sisters), Les CLaypool (Primus), Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint), Carla Azar (Autolux, Jack White), Matt Sweeney (Chavez), and more.

'The Cockfighters' EP is out in January via Matador.
