Today's NYC-area shows include Florence + the Machine (in Central Park for Good Morning America), Sondre Lerche, the UCB's Del Close Marathon, U2, Dave Hause/Restorations, By the Grace of God, Paul Collins' Beat, Zomes, and more.
The project aims to pull from both hip hop and Brazilian music, and was born out of Prince Paul's trip to Brazil a decade ago, when he met Rodrigo Brandão. They added Digable Planets' Ladybug Mecca and De La Soul collaborator Don Newkirk, and will release their debut album this October.
