“This is the first duet/collaboration I’ve ever done in my life, so to do it with Trent was a real surprise and a treat,” says Elfman.

Danny Elfman‘s ‘Big Mess,‘ his first solo album in 37 years, is out June 11.

As he’s done before, Elfman – who composed the original film’s music, lyrics and score – will reprise his singing voice role as Jack Skellington for this live-to-film concert screening.

The album features 17 new Elfman songs and a reworked version of Oingo Boingo‘s “Insects.“

“I was feeling particularly mellow one day last summer,“ says Danny about his near-metal new single. “I decided to write this very chill song for everyone who wants to put something on that will really help them zone out and relax.“

Danny calls his new song, “An expression of the borderline madness that so many of us have been experiencing. Lord knows I have.“

The new song was written especially for the composer and former Oingo Boingo frontman’s 2020 Coachella performance, that ended up not happening due to the pandemic, and the video was made by Bjork and Arca collaborator Jesse Kanda.
