SXSW is just two months away, and here’s this week’s music lineup update. Newly announced 2019 showcasing artists include John Vanderslice, PAWS, Sidney Gish, Drivin N Cryin, Ratking, Laura Stevenson, NOTS, Gymshorts, Drab Majesty, and more.

Garage soul great King Khan will be out with The Shrines this fall, starting with Pop Montreal and working his way across the continent, including a stop at California’s Desert Daze festival. Most shows are with Australia’s Gabriella Cohen.

Foxygen played The Vic with Gabriella Cohen on their tour in support of their most recent album, ‘Hang.’

They’re recreating the Double R Diner, complete with damn fine coffee, pie and doughnuts.

This UK festival, set at the idyllic Larmer Tree Gardens, features Father John Misty, Mac Demarco, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Band of Horses, Ty Segall, Real Estate, Parquet Courts, Perfume Genius, Car Seat Headrest, Foxygen, The Lemon Twigs, and lots more.

Gabriella Cohen has just shared the video for “Beaches,” from 2016’s ‘Full Closure and No Details.’ Cohen says the video is “an Australian interpretation of driving around the Grand Canyon in a convertible”…

It’s an LP full of warm, smokey guitar pop, steeped in the Velvet Underground and vintage soul (it’s a sound she describes as “pink”).
