There's been an influx of bands lately who appear to have been raised equally on punk and heavier alternative rock as well as intimate singer/songwriters, and have managed to expertly combine those sounds. We've seen Speedy Ortiz, Mitski, Waxahatchee, Pinegrove and a handful of others do this, and a newer artist to join that group is Philly's Grayling.
