John Medeski, Nels Cline, Bill Frisell, Billy Martin, and more extremely talented musicians came together on Tuesday (2/6) for a benefit concert at Le Poisson Rouge to help support Creative Music Studio, whose mission is to engage "musicians and listeners from all backgrounds to deepen and broaden their musical sensitivity, expression and understanding through workshops, recordings and concerts worldwide."
Founded in 1954, the Newport Jazz Festival was the first jazz festival in America, and has been host to some historic happenings. This year's fest includes Bela Fleck & The Flecktones, The Roots, Snarky Puppy, Maceo Parker, Branford Marsalis, Andra Day & more.
