The Thermals are no more, but bassist/backing vocalist Kathy Foster is staying busy with her solo project, Roseblood, who just played their first two shows with new drummer Janet Weiss (of Sleater-Kinney), opening for Speedy Ortiz.

Quasi (aka Sam Coomes and Janet Weiss) have put together a new compilation protest album called Battle Hymns that features tons of exciting guests. It's a pay-what-you-want download, and proceeds benefit Planned Parenthood, ACLU, and 350.org.
