For bands, The Savannah Stopover is a way to ease into the festival insanity that is SXSW, and for audiences it's a chance to catch a lot of bands who are on their way Austin, but in a much more laid back atmosphere. Having the fest in Savannah's downtown district, where you can drink on the street and take your beverage with you from venue to venue, is a nice bonus.
In addition to a Treepeople reunion and Built to Spill, the initial lineup includes George Clinton, Zola Jesus, Andrew WK, Titus Andronicus, U.S. Girls, Twin Peaks, and more.
The first round of acts revealed for the eighth annual Savannah Stopover festival include of Montreal, Shopping, Public Access TV, Ratboys, Michael Nau, The Nude Party, and more.
