First it was revealed that Smiths members Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce were taking part in “Classically Smiths,” a series of live orchestral re-imaginations of Smiths songs. Then Andy Rourke quickly denied any involvement in the project, and now Mike Joyce is pulling out.

Bassist Andy Rourke, drummer Mike Joyce, and Craig Gannon (who was briefly The Smiths’ second guitarist and also briefly played with Morrissey) will reunite for “Classically Smiths,” a collaboration with the Manchester Camerata Orchestra which will feature orchestral re-imaginations of Smiths songs…
