This week in the Basement: reviews of new albums from A Girl Called Eddy, Holy Fuck, The Chap and Whyte Horses, plus the deluxe 30th anniversary edition of Pale Saints' The Comforts of Madness.

Manchester UK collective Whyte Horses, a band of sorts that mix various strains of '60s psych and French pop, exotica, krautrock, glam and more into one groovy sound. You can listen to two songs off 'Hard Times' now.

"The story of the album is like this, moving from the arcane drums to the treble and harmonics and light in my voice," says Camille. "All the voices are telling a story, and I am all the voices."

There was little to indicate that an actual musical was being performed. The many wardrobe changes and monologues that pontificated on death and sexual debauchery and were delivered by young men in fabulous suits did little to create a narrative or establish any dramatic structure...
