Rooftop Films 2019 Summer Series. includes a collection of Sonic Youth NYC-centric films and videos from their private archives, and a David Bazan documentary (and performance) in Green-Wood Cemetery.

The schedule for May includes documentary Running with Beto, Burnt Sugar The Arkestra Chamber’s “live score remix” of Melvin Van Peebles’ Sweet Sweetback’s Baadasssss Song, and more.

Clearly, this was not your average movie premiere.

The film, ‘Family,’ is about a woman whose 12-year-old niece runs away to become a juggalo, and stars Taylor Schilling and Kate McKinnon.
