“The Other Side represents a side of my personality as an artist that most people haven’t seen until now,” says Radelet. “It also represents my coming out the other side of a traumatic experience, gathering what I could from ‘Before’ and figuring out how to exist ‘After.’“

“Is it easy to start over?“ Ruth sings in the single’s chorus. She’s also making an appearance at fellow former Chromatics member Adam Miller’s L.A. show this week.

“Growing up in Portland, I couldn’t help but be influenced by Elliott Smith,“ Ruth says. “His music was just in the water there.“ This is Ruth‘s first solo release.
