Bang on a Can’s 2024 Long Play festival features over 60 concerts at venues within walking distance of each other in downtown Brooklyn from May 3-5.

The ”65-foot-diameter spherical concert hall” will also feature recorded sets from Yaeji, The xx, and more.

The concert will be performed by percussionists Colin Currie Group and Synergy Vocals and is billed as a celebration of Reich.

The 2023 lineup includes Amadou & Mariam, Devendra Banhart, Andrew Bird, Grouper, Charles Lloyd, Arooj Aftab, The Weather Station, Kevin Morby, Makaya McCraven, Vijay Iyer, John Zorn, and lots more.

“I have a soft spot for visceral rawness and integrity,” says Bjork of what to expect. “I like it when people are idiosyncratic and have their own world.”

“Jon brought the technique of circular-breathing to the music, and to the Philip Glass Ensemble. To put it bluntly, the music wouldn’t have happened without that,” wrote Philip Glass in tribute.
