It’s become a Brooklyn tradition, having Sun Ra Arkestra play Union Pool’s free Summer Thunder series and that continued on Sunday with 99-year-old Marshall Allen still their skronky spark.

Union Pool’s free Summer Thunder series happens every Sunday afternoon through Labor Day Weekend. Also playing: William Tyler, Fenne Lily, Poison Ruin, and June McDoom.

After a month closed following the July 1 five-alarm fire in the building next door, Brooklyn’s Union Pool has finally gotten the go-ahead to reopen and will be pouring drinks starting Friday
