The 2018 edition of Lollapalooza kicked off in Chicago's Grant Park on Thursday (8/2) with sets from Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, Tyler Childers, Supa Bwe, Stars, G Herbo, Basement, Valee, Camila Cabello, Khalid, Jaden Smith, Billie Eilish, and more.
Chance broke the news in one of four new just-released songs, and since confirmed it was true in a statement. He bought the site from WYNC, who recently relaunched Gothamist (who also confirmed the news).
Arctic Monkeys, Jack White, The National, and Vampire Weekend all play different days, so if you were hoping to catch the big indie/alternative rock names and just go one or two days, that's kind of a bummer. St. Vincent the same day as Vampire Weekend is a nice touch though.
Supa Bwe has collaborated with such well-known neighbors as Chance the Rapper, Mick Jenkins, and Saba, and he also has a whole song dedicated to Weezer featuring a trap-inspired cover of "The Sweater Song."
