Live Nation bought a controlling stake in Bonnaroo back in 2015, and entered into a partnership with Superfly and AC Entertainmen, who co-founded the festival in 2002.

”Woodstock 50 LLC’s and Michael Lang’s misrepresentations, incompetence, and contractual breaches have made it impossible to produce a high-quality event that is safe and secure for concertgoers, artists, and staff,” the lawyer of former Woodstock financial partner Dentsu Aegis Network writes.

Financial backers Dentsu Aegis Network ”do not have the right to unilaterally cancel the festival,” Michael Lang said in an interview.

The new Denver festival, which was created by Bonnaroo and Outside Lands co-creators Superfly, also features Sturgill Simpson, Miguel, The War On Drugs, De La Soul, Mavis Staples, and more.

The festival take place June 2-4 in San Francisco and also features Also on the lineup: Bob Odenkirk, Fred Armisen, Maya Rudolph’s Prince tribute act Princess, Ty Segall, Vince Staples, Reggie Watts, Tig Notaro, Pete Davidson, a live taping on the “How Did This Get Made?” podcast, Chris Gethard, and lots more.

The inaugural edition of the festival will happen Summer 2017 in San Francisco.

Live Nation recently bought a piece of C3 which added U.S. festivals Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits to their portfolio. Now Live Nation got themselves Bonnaroo too…
