Wednesday night’s program, ”The Motherlode,” paid tribute to Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and others through performances by Amina Claudine Myers, Courtney Marie Andrews, Rhiannon Giddens, Cleo Reed, Lizz Wright, Charenee Wade, Valerie Simpson and more.

The 15th annual Winter Jazzfest happens January 4-12 and will have, for the first time, have its annual Marathon stretch across two weekends.

Like every year, the series offers a variety of jazz, soul, and R&B lunchtime concerts that are free and open to the public.

Village club Le Poisson Rouge is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a series of special shows including Thomas Bartlett & Nico Muhly, Olafur Arnarlds, Pere Ubu, Matthew Sweet, Marc Ribot, Vijay Iyer Trio & Mantana Roberts, and more.

The list is being celebrated with a free NYC show tonight, headlined by Rickie Lee Jones, who will perform Pirates in full (#49 on the list).
