pics: Lionel Richie & The Suffers @ ACL Live

Lionel Richie brought his “All Night Long” tour to Austin (again) last month for a show an ACL Live at Moody Theatre on October 24. From opener “Running With the Night” on, it was a non-stop hitfest with both solo songs and Commodores classics, finally encoring with USA for Africa charity single “We Are the World.” That included, of course, his 1984 #1 worldwide smash “Hello,” which has been getting a revived interest of late because of Adele’s “Hello” (which is currently the #1 single in America). Of that he recently told Dujour: Even though she didn’t cover the song, but the word ‘hello’ automatically everyone called me on the phone and said she used “hello,” and I said well I kind of own “Hello,” haha. But not to the point where it’s any kind of a problem. I’ll loan hello to Adele. Setlist for Lionel’s ACL show is below.
