ex Joanna Gruesome members form Ex-Void, touring w/ Waxahatchee in UK

Former Joanna Gruesome members Alanna McArdle and Owen Williams have formed a new band called Ex-Vöid. (Alanna left JG in 2015 and the band carried on, though they’ve been quiet for a year.) So far there’s not a lot of info about them, though they describe themselves as ”Ex-treme Pöwer Pöp” and they’ll tour with Waxahatchee on UK dates in June…

UK trio Flowers released their debut EP, making US debut at NYC Popfest this weekend (dates, streams)

London’s trio Flowers are on their way to the U.S. for NYC Popfest, where they’ll play this Saturday (6/1) at The Bell House as part of a bill that includes New Zealand headliners The Bats as well as fellow UK acts Tigercats, The Hobbes Fanclub, and The Proctors as well as Sweden’s Azure Blue

We already knew that The Monochrome Set would be performing at this year’s NYC Popfest (May 30 – June 2) but now the rest of the line-up has been announced and it’s pretty great with appearances from New Zealand Flying Nun legends The Bats, two bands who featured on NME’s legendary C-86 cassette (Scotland’s Close Lobsters and London’s The Wolfhounds), and long-running California band The Orange Peels; plus newer bands like Wales’ The School, UK group Flowers, Hobbes Fanclub and Tigercats, Sweden’s Alpaca Sport and Azur Blue, Norway’s Making Marks, and Spain’s Zipper; and American groups Ringo Deathstarr, Math & Physics Club, Literature, Ski Lodge and more…
