Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade

After being cancelled and then saved a week later by CT dog wellness startup Get Joy, the Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade returned on Saturday for an edition that looked very unlike previous years.

Fairfield County, CT dog wellness startup Get Joy has stepped in to save the parade this year.

“Despite our best efforts to keep the parade going, with ongoing building work in both our local parks there was just no way to hold the parade this year,” organizers write.

With the East River Amphitheater demolished, the Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade is returning to its former home this October.

Sunday’s rainy weather was for the dogs, but that didn’t stop hundreds of costumed canines and their owners, as well as a full house of onlookers, from participating in the beloved annual tradition, now in its 29th year.
