Will Butler, who is no longer in Arcade Fire, has just shared a new two-track single and announced August tour dates

”I left at the end of last year, after the new record was complete. There was no acute reason beyond that I’ve changed—and the band has changed—over the last almost 20 years. Time for new things,” Will said, and adds, ”The band are still my friends and family.”

“Spotify is betting that what used to be known as the music industry is in fact dead but that maybe the company can make money in the ‘audio industry,‘“ Butler writes. “But that shift involves decisions that disappoint even people jaded by years of experience with the recording business.“
