Tall Tall Trees (mem. Kishi Bashi) releasing 'Freedays' -- watch the title track's lyric video

Tall Tall Trees is the solo project of banjo wiz Mike Savino who you may know as a member of Kishi Bashi’s band. Freedays is his third Tall Tall Trees album, which will be out via Joyful Noise on February 17. (Preorder.) Nearly every sound heard on the album, which is full of widescreen folk pop, was made with his banjo, or born out of experimenting with it and effects/loop pedals.

The LP’s title track is one of the more ethereal cuts on the album. “‘Free Days’ is a meditation, a song that captures the moment that exists between what one has and what one wants,” Savino tells us. “It is the exploration of the passage of time and the acceptance that life and love may never appear as you expect.” The animated lyric video for “Freedays” makes its premiere in this post and you can watch, and listen to another song from the LP, below.

Tall Tall Trees has a few shows lined up, including some with Kishi Bashi. He’ll perform as Tall Tall Trees in NYC at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2 on February 25. Tickets are on sale and all dates are listed below.
